EGLINTON MEDICAL PRACTICE
Appointments

We operate an appointment-only system in order to run efficiently and reduce waiting times.  You can arrange an appointment with a doctor or nurse by calling to the surgery or by telephone.  You can see any of the doctors but it is better for you, and us, if you try and see the same doctor each time.  Appointments with a doctor are 10 minutes’ duration, but if you feel you need a longer appointment, please let reception know, and we will try to accommodate this.

Patients will only be seen without an appointment in a genuine emergency, and you may not be seen by the doctor of your choice.

The doctors consult between the hours of 09.00 and 11.30am and 2.00 and 4.00pm.  There are a limited number of emergency (same day) appointments available every day; the receptionist may ask you about the nature of the complaint in order to assess suitability for these emergency appointments.

Late arrivals may find that they have to wait until the end of the surgery to be seen, or be asked to make another appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment the doctor might not see you.  If you cannot keep your appointment please telephone and cancel so that the appointment can be given to another patient.

If you fail to attend appointments without informing us, you may be contacted by the practice manager.  If you repeatedly miss appointments you may be removed from the practice list and have to register with an alternative GP practice.
