You are advised to see a nurse or doctor for advice regarding fitness to travel, travel vaccinations and malaria risk.
Some vaccinations, including hepatitis A and typhoid, are available on the NHS. Other vaccinations, e.g. yellow fever, and antimalarial tablets are subject to private prescription fees.
Eglinton medical practice is an approved yellow fever vaccination centre. Yellow fever vaccine must be given 10 days or more before your trip to be effective and to be officially accepted by the country to which you are travelling. Vaccination must be recorded on an official certificate. You should carry this with you during travel as it may be requested by immigration officials during your trip. When you receive the vaccine you will be given this certificate. For international travel, the yellow fever certificate lasts for 10 years.
